Terms

Effective date: 14th July 2026 Last updated: 14th July 2026

You are using a website operated by ichi nichi ippo. Our full company name is Experience Overseas Ltd and we are registered in England and Wales with registration number 12231699. Referred to as “ichi nichi ippo” or “we” in this agreement. By accessing or using the ichi nichi ippo Website, or any applications (including mobile applications) made available by ichi nichi ippo(together, the “Service”), however accessed, you agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions which consists of the following policies:

1. What ichi nichi ippo is

ichi nichi ippo is a Japan-focused travel planning app. It gives you curated editorial guidance, planning tools, and reminders to help you build a trip. We are not a travel agent. We do not book anything on your behalf. We do not represent the venues, hotels, transport operators, or any third parties whose information appears in the app.

When the app surfaces something about a booking — for example, "booking opens 14 days before your visit date" or "this venue requires reservations" — we provide that as guidance based on the best information we have. **You are responsible for completing your own bookings and verifying dates, prices, availability, and any other details before committing money or making travel commitments.**

2. Your account

To use most of the app you need an account, which is created with your email address. Specifically:

- You agree to provide a real email address that you have access to, and to keep your access to that email account secure.

- Your account is for one person. Don't share it.

- You can delete your account any time from within the app: **Profile → Delete account**. We do this immediately.

You are responsible for what happens through your account. If someone else accesses your email and uses it to sign in to ichi nichi ippo, what they do with your account is your responsibility — so keep your email secure.

3. What you can do with the app

The app, the editorial content inside it (place descriptions, guides, recommended itineraries, route notes, all the prose we write), and the structure of how it presents information are **owned by us and protected by copyright and other intellectual property rights**.

You may:

- Use the app to plan your own personal trips

- Save, refer back to, and follow your own plans

- Take screenshots of individual entries for your own use or to share with friends planning the same trip

You may not:

- Republish or redistribute our editorial content elsewhere (a blog, another app, a database, social media at scale)

- Scrape, copy, or systematically extract content from the app

- Use the app or its content for any commercial purpose (selling itineraries, building a competing service, training machine learning models on our content)

- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code

- Try to access other users' data, the underlying database, or anything that's not yours

- Use the app to do anything illegal, abusive, or harmful

4. Content you create

When you create something in the app — a note, a custom destination or place, your trip plans, your to-do list — you own that content. We don't claim any ownership of it.

You give us a limited licence to store and display it within the app for you, so we can show it back to you when you sign in. If you delete the content, or delete your account, this licence ends.

5. Subscriptions & payments

Some features of the app require a paid subscription. Here's how that works:

- **Billing is handled by Apple.** All subscriptions are purchased through the App Store using your Apple ID. We never see or store your payment details.

- **Prices and plans** are shown in the app and on the App Store before you buy. We offer more than one subscription length; the price and renewal period for each is displayed at the point of purchase.

- **Auto-renewal.** Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends.

- **Cancelling.** You can cancel any time in your Apple ID settings (Settings → your name → Subscriptions). Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep access to paid features until the end of the period you've already paid for. **Deleting the app, or deleting your account, does not by itself cancel a subscription** — please cancel through Apple as well.

- **Refunds** are handled by Apple under the App Store's terms. You can request one at [reportaproblem.apple.com](https://reportaproblem.apple.com). Nothing here limits your statutory rights under the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015 or your equivalent local consumer protection law.

- **Price changes.** If we change the price of a subscription, the new price applies from your next renewal, and Apple will notify you in advance so you can cancel if you'd rather not continue.

- **Promotional pricing.** From time to time we may offer promotional or founding-member pricing through offer codes. Any specific conditions will be shown when the offer is made. Promotional prices apply for the period stated; after that, the standard price applies unless you cancel.

6. Third party services

The app uses several third-party services to function:

- **Google Maps** for maps, place lookups, and address information

- **Mapbox** for maps

- **Supabase** for storing your account and trip data

- **Sanity** for hosting our editorial content

- **RevenueCat** for managing subscription entitlements

- **Resend** for email delivery

- **Apple** for app distribution, payments, and notifications

When you interact with these services through the app, their terms also apply to you. We are not responsible for the accuracy, availability, or behaviour of third-party services.

If a third-party service changes, becomes unavailable, or stops working as it does today, we may need to change the app — and the corresponding feature may not work the same way.

7. Availability and changes to the app

We try to keep the app available and working well, but we can't promise uninterrupted service. We may need to take the app offline for maintenance, updates, or for reasons outside our control. We don't owe you compensation for downtime.

We may change, add, or remove features at any time. If we make a significant change that affects how you use the app — particularly a paid feature — we'll try to give you reasonable notice, but we don't have to keep any particular feature working forever.

8. Ending your account

**You can end your account any time** — Profile → Delete account inside the app. We delete your data within minutes. Remember to also cancel any active subscription through Apple (see section 5), as deleting your account does not cancel it automatically.

**We can end your account** if you breach these terms, abuse the service, do something illegal, or behave in a way that materially harms us or other users. We'll try to give you reasonable notice unless the situation is urgent. If we end your account for breach, you are not entitled to a refund for any remaining subscription period, except where the law says otherwise.

9. Disclaimers

The app is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent allowed by law, we don't make any specific promises:

- That the information in the app is accurate, complete, or up-to-date at any given moment

- That you'll succeed in booking any venue (Ghibli Museum, teamLab, Shibuya Sky, anything else)

- That a route you plan will actually run on the day, on time, or at the price shown

- That the app will work without interruption or bugs

- That the app will meet your specific needs

This doesn't override your statutory rights under the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015 (or your equivalent local consumer protection law). If those laws give you stronger protections than these terms, those laws apply.

10. Liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law:

- Our total liability to you for anything arising out of or related to your use of the app is **capped at £100 or, if you've paid us anything in the past 12 months, the amount you've paid us in that period (whichever is higher)**.

- We are not liable for **indirect, consequential, or special losses** — for example, lost profits, missed bookings, missed flights, lost holiday time, distress, or anything that wasn't a direct and foreseeable result of something we did wrong.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability where the law says we can't — for example, for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.

11. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify us against any claims, losses, or expenses we suffer because you misused the app, breached these terms, or violated someone else's rights through your use of the app.

12. Governing laws & disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales unless you're a consumer in another country whose local consumer protection law gives you the right to bring a claim where you live.

If you have a complaint, we'd much rather sort it out informally first — please email us at daisy@ichi-nichi-ippo.com before bringing a claim.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms over time. If we make significant changes, we'll tell you — either by email or by an in-app notice — before they take effect. By continuing to use the app after that point, you accept the updated terms. If you don't accept them, you can delete your account.

Smaller changes (clarifying wording, fixing typos) will appear here with a new "Last updated" date.
